Job Title: Head Chef
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
  • Plan, develop, and implement menus that meet customer needs and preferences
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Control food costs, inventory, and kitchen supplies
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Train and develop kitchen staff to improve their skills and performance
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Monitor and manage kitchen budgets and reports

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
  • NVQ Level 3 in Culinary Skills or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong business acumen and cost-control skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hospitality or culinary degree
  • Food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, Food Hygiene)
  • Experience with kitchen management software and inventory control systems
  • Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients
  • Certification in allergen management and nutritional awareness
